PUSH SKATESHOP LAUCHING PARTY

Jan 19, 2008 - 59, Jalan Lawan Pedang, 13/27, 40100, Shah Alam Selangor

The most talked bout skateshop since mid last year. What's so speacial about it? I mean why everyone were talking bout it? Ok, here's some details that i know. At first the shop was planned to operate in the Shah Alam Xtreme Concrete park itself. Due to some reason, owner Shahree aka Aie had something better in mind and found a shoplot just about less than 1km away from the Skate park. If i'm not mistaken the shop already opened sometime late November last year. The name PUSH has been a wellknown or spread, gossip thru the local skate scene. I mean i'm suprised that PUSH were wellknown just before they open the shop.

Ok what i like about the skateshop coz it was 100% owned and operated by skater for skaters. The owner is the coolest skater guy that everyone has ever know. The shop gives the opportunity to most skters around PJ, Subang, Shah Alam and Klang areas. I mean why bother to drive far away to KL to buy a skateboard since you can save time and petrol by going to PUSH and then skate at the concrete skatepark near by. You also can skate at few cool spot such as the stairs gap at the Stadium, the curve ledge at Section 2 and tons more. Just asked the guys at PUSH and they will help you out. Speaking of the shop itself. The location is very stratergic, good coz it's near to the park, 7-11 and mamak stall. They have some sort of space to chill out, clean toilets, the shop kinda very proper, clean, tidy and they were selling drinks too. Not messy like some skateshop i've been to. But the shop still kinda look empty coz it has tons of space that they need to work with the display, etc. Or maybe that was their concept. But hey, it's still new man. Just give Aie a break and time. By few months i'm sure they had plenty to offer. Oh yes they also do special orders. Which means if you wanna order something online or things that you can't get in Malaysia. They also can help you to order it. A classic reissue boards or Daggers skateboard perhaps. Hell yeah!!!

Ok let's talked bout the owner Aie then. Who the hell is he? Well maybe you didn't noticed. I did remebered he was skinnier back then when i worked with Zone 5 (Tribe) at Sg Wang back in 1999. He was a regular customer there, he was kinda not as fair as he looks now. Dressed up like a B-Boy clan or something (with Cap). Kinda look like Muska wannabe with pants folded up one side (The Shorty's era). Then he appeared in DNA #2 and then had an interview on DNA #3. Right after that i quit from Zone 5 and never seen his face anymore till i meet him again 2 years ago. When i meet him back, i was like "Hey this guys looks familiar" and it took me a while to figure out till i saw him again skatin and the way he acted with style especially the mouth part. That rings my bell and i'm sure it's him and i went back to Ipoh one day and looked for my old stuff and found DNA magazine and hell yes it's him alright. The name matched too. Check the old Aie on DNA below.

Ok enough, here's the real deal of the lauching party. I did arrived late there with my son. Missed out all the bands performances. The front door was packed with people from nowhere. Everybody's had to sign the guestbook and can grab tons of PUSH sticker where they left it next to the guestbook. Let's go inside, well inside there were more people chillin out everywhere. Eating here and there, watching skate videos on a big screen projector, sleeping too..hahahaha...some also can't resist to buy some stuff. This is a good sign for PUSH. The environment is good and positive. PUSH staff were everywere doin their duties given by Aie. Good job. The food was nice and simple. All those wellknown skaters were there too. After a while most of us hit the park and skate. Guess who i meet there then? An old friend, an old skater and an old underground friend, Rahdi OAG. I thought he left after the acoustica performace. So we were like talking too many stuff bout our old golden days (mostly bout bands than skating). But suprisingly that he manged to land a kickfip after a second try and did tried to do a no comply. Well Rahdi it's cool that he still remembered me and his old friends Kieron too. I think last i've meet him was like 11 years ago. Wow lama nye..Cool...Ok guys, apa tunggu lagi? If you had problems with your skateboard like bearings, or anything during a skate session at Shah Alam. You definately know where to go!! PUSH ATAU MATI!!! PUSH OR DIE!!!!
