GO SKATE DAY , 2008
(Part 2)
Shah Alam Xtreme Park , Shah Alam, Selangor
21st June 2008
(continue from page 1) Anyway, there were many others activities going on the same day at the park with free ride on the flying fox, wall climbing, kids coloring contest, bunch of booth to visits, lucky draw, etc. Also noted many skaters left after the lucky draw which we felt a bit disappointed. But its ok, next time please don’t do it again, your support is needed in the scene. We are also glad that the organizer invited some of us to participate in planting the tree plants with other VIPs, and participants for the World Environment Day. Then at 2pm, we begin with the best trick contest at the 7 steps staircase at the park. Only few local pro showed up and the rest were new faces. After bunch of massive trick attacks from the contestant, it started to rain after the 2nd group hit the stairs. We’ve waited for about more than 2 hours till it stops. Luckily the new café (Sports café) just opened today. So we chat and chat till it stops. So we hit the stairs again but the heat ain’t that competitive except for Fuad who did a first try for nollie heelflip and won the 1st place, Nazrilian landed his trademark phat FS flip after the 4th or 5th trial. There’s another kid also landed the same trick but not as phat as Nasrilian’s but end up another kid did a kickflip won the 3rd place. I think there’s some minor error or misplaced sheet there during the finalization (Well life ain’t perfect, and I’m sorry on behalf). Kecik Senn broke his deck and called it a day, while Kecik Kepong failed to complete his favorite switch big spin. The same goes to Ja Chicken, Aris, Dominique and others. Better luck next time!

Besides the best tick, Crazeecausa also hosting the Game of SKATE for the 2nd time here in Shah Alam. And once again, it was a true success. With over 100 kids turning out, not to mentioned Joe Ipoh and myself in the judges’ stand, there were bound to be some serious games going down. Surprisingly, none of the pro’s like Fuad, Adam Kepong, Haziq, Ellis, Aris and others made it through to the Semi-Finals, but some crazy little kid named Azreen and Azhad had a tons of variations that was quite impressive, so it ended up Azreen taking the cake. Hat’s off to him.
Once again, to those who showed up for this memorable Go Skate Day event, kudos to you and you are the real skater. See you again next year!!!
