XGAMES ASIA 2007
May 2007
KIC Jiangwan Sports Centre, Shanghai, China

I think everyone knows the results as posted on our website (news section). As were told from our friends, this year Shanghai Asian X Games were great with new places and new environment, and new faces. Yet many international professional skateboarder, bmxers competing and also some of them come all the way to watch the event. Ok bad news first; none of our local rider made it into the finals this year (1st time since Asian X Games 2000 i think). Also i think you guys know that ESPN maybe will continue to do AXG event in mainland China till 2009 (yeah i know many of them preferred Malaysia but it all depends on the sponsorships and big offers man). Another bad things is... well to many Daggers wannabie. Even some hip hop or bladers as well (WTF???). Ok here's the good part; Pa'Din told us that he meet the great legendary Nicky Guerrero (I think old school skaters should know him). Yup, also Mariss told me that the vert event this years is not before in the Asian X Games but it's more like the X Games coz all top 10 finalist were professional rider. As usual you will noticed Sandro Dias, Neal Hendrix, Trevor, and Renton before this. But this year they had more International pro to compete in the vert and they had Bob Burnquist, Pierre-Lug Gagnon, Andy Macdonald, Rune Glifberg and the legendary Nicky Guerrero and then Bucky Lasek was on the wild card but he couldn't make it. Overall there are 18 vert riders and 27 street / park contestants. Once again this year the UAE team is back. Welcome back Evan!!! The first and the last they participated was back then in 2004 in Bukit Jalil AXG. Mean while the judges for this year was Maris and Matt Milligan. Also it took about few minutes to reach SMP park from the event site. Well that's all. See ya next year.
